Chocolate Industries, 2004
After several delays, the latest installment of Urban Renewal Program finally hits the streets, and it’s far superior to its predecessor. From Kutmasta Kurt’s creative India-inspired remix of “Wylin Out” to the smooth, catchy “Fear” by Atmosphere, this is a tight set of underground hip-hop. The raps are interspersed with instrumentals by Prefuse-73, Caural, and The Timeout Drawer, all of them excellent. I’m not sure what Chocolate Industries’ plan is regarding future issues, but I hope they’re all as high-quality as this one.
