µ-ziq: Urmur Bile Trax

I bought µ-ziq’s Urmur Bile Trax Volumes 1 and 2 on Tuesday, a warm, unusual (for Ithaca) spring-like day. It was an impulse buy on a spontaneous trip to College Town in Cornell. I’d heard a lot about Mike Paradinas’ latest work from various mailing lists, but I didn’t expect such an epic release. The complexity of this drum ’n’ bass is incredible—electronic sounds cascade on either side of clipped rolling snares. Originally released on two slabs of vinyl, both volumes are available on a CD from Astralwerks. It’s well worth taking the time to track down.
